News April 8th, 2007 at 10:17 pm“Google has plans to create the world’s largest and best online mapping system and is asking all of us for our help. This project will let users search through millions of carefully prepared photo and video data of local areas supplied by others. All of the data will be electronically mapped and tied to the specific location that they represent. The hope is that this will lead to a virtual world in great detail.
Google is planning to release all of the tools necessary for easy participation by the people that want to share what they know about their local areas and favorite places by creating custom maps to collaborate the information. This new idea will allow everyone to become involved in creating the most detailed data bank of local knowledge accessible anywhere on the internet.
Google will release this service next month and users will can begin adding details immediately after release. Check back with Noob Flash for more information about this Google service when there is more to share.”
